Terroirs of the Barossa Greenock Shiraz
Wine
Château Tanunda Terroirs of the Barossa Greenock Shiraz is one of a series that showcases the combined effects of site, soil and climate – known as terroir – on the vine and its fruit.
The Barossa Greenock Shiraz is sourced from the most westerly district of the Barossa Valley, where heavy brown soils over red clay produce rich expressions of Shiraz.
The fruit is wild fermented and basket pressed. The basket press, imported from France, is the Rolls Royce of basket pressing, it ensures the grapes express the unique character of their place of origin.
Moved to barrel for malolactic fermentation, the wine is aged in a combination of new and seasoned French and American oak for 18 months.
Inky garnet, Château Tanunda Terroirs of the Barossa Greenock Shiraz is full bodied with ripe red fruit flavours and a persistent finish. Cellaring potential is 12 years.
